2023 CNA Board Candidate
Professional Education: Advanced Practice Nurse; Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist Current position held and experiences with change leadership.: I am a 3rd year PhD student at the University of Colorado and I am a CNS for UCHealth ANA/CNA experience (current & past): I am a current member of ANA/CNA. I have no previous work experience specific with the ANA and CNA Please describe experience with governance, management, public speaking, and/or financial management.: I have experience speaking at conferences. I have no government experience, and I am willing to learn more about this function. I have some management experience. I am a Graduate Nursing Student Academy Student Liaison for the American Association of Colleges of Nursing for the University of Colorado. I created and am an acting member of our Nurse Peer Review Committee and sit on multiple shared governance boards at my place of work and the University of Colorado. 1) Please describe what members should know about why you seek being elected to this office or position?: I am passionate about nurses and the future of nursing at the local, state, and federal levels. I enjoy learning about opportunities in healthcare policy, nursing practice, and advanced nursing practice. I have values and beliefs that align with the ANA/CNA and will uphold this elected position to advocate for our nurses. 2) What priorities do you see for CNA at this time?: Healthcare policy regarding our nursing workforce, future nurses, retention and recruitment, integrity/nursing ethics, and optimal patient care outcomes. I am an advocate for collaborative partnerships, holistic patient-centered care and nursing education. 3) As a potential member of the CNA Board of Directors you have a Duty of Loyalty to CNA. That Duty of Loyalty is defined as being able to put the interests of CNA above any others. Please indicate if you have a real or potential Conflict of Interest personally or financially that may impact your ability to vote on select CNA business.: I have not conflicts of interest. |
