Professional Education:

Master's in Nursing, PhD in Adult Education and mior in Higher Education Adminstration

Current position held and experiences with change leadership.:

Owner, NursingStrategies & Consulting, Tutor - Arapahoe Community College - Biology. In regards to change leadership I currently consult with Health Science programs at a community college in Arizona to help their faculty with changes that need to be implemented - for mursing just finished adopting Assessmetn & Evaluation Guidelines where I led faculty to write the guidelines to bring consistency to the programs on four campuses. As a tutor I am asssting the driector of the program in marketing and establishing relationships with students enrolled in the biology courses. Also working on establishing tutoring for the PN-RN program.

ANA/CNA experience (current & past):

President - DNA 20 for three years, ending in May 2023. Elected to board position to start in August 2023 and will remain as Chairperson of Membership Committee. Wa on the Conference Planning Committee for CNA Education Conference in April. Was appointed to the Nominating Committee where I currenlty am serving. Also currently Co-Chairperson of the Nursing Education & Professional Development ANT.

Please describe experience with governance, management, public speaking, and/or financial management.:

As President of DNA 20 I was responsible for assisting in bylaws written to reflect the district with the assistance of anothe board member. Responsible for preparing agendas and working with board and membership to plan prograsm as the second part of our meetings. I did doa presentation on atuoimmune diseases. As Membership Chairperson was respnsbile for communicating and posting meeting information on the CNA website and reaching out to nursing programs to spread information to soon to be graduates about joining ANA. I also created a video that was distributed to nursing programs about th eprocess. As a member of the Conference Planning Committee was responsible for attending planning meetings and was able to work with other committee members and adminstrative staff to get conference planned and implemented. Through the NEPD ANT I share leading the meetings and development of goals and objectives for the ANT.

1) Please describe what members should know about why you seek being elected to this office or position?:

If elected Secretary of CNA I will be devoted on providing accurate documentation of the meetings' events. I have attended board meetings in the past so understand the process and have worked with several members of the board on other tasks. I am committed to continue being a part of CNA and be a factor in recognizing if changes need to occur. I also see my role as a leader to assist in helping the new adminstrative company and other new board members become familiar with needs of members and leaders in the CNA. I also will continue to be a leader within CNA through DNA 20, and NEPD.

2) What priorities do you see for CNA at this time?:

Priorities for CNA right now include: orienting the new management company to needs of the members and the board, continue to be a large voice in the legislative process, grow membership involvement.

3) As a potential member of the CNA Board of Directors you have a Duty of Loyalty to CNA. That Duty of Loyalty is defined as being able to put the interests of CNA above any others. Please indicate if you have a real or potential Conflict of Interest personally or financially that may impact your ability to vote on select CNA business.:

I do not see any conflicts of interests either personally or professionally or financially.
