Please describe experience with governance, management, public speaking, and/or financial management.:

As a CNA President I became experienced with governance, management and public speaking.

I did National Public Speaking for 20 years. Was a Certified Speaking Professional. Opened and closed National Conferences with healthcare employees as my primary audience.

Had long-term contracts with all kinds of industries where I did individual work with employees on Leadership Development.

Designed customized programs on Leadership Development within the company

I did Public Speaking in my role of CNA President and while working as the Clinical Director of PAS, I spoke regularly with the SBON. and offered many Public Speaking events regarding Substance Use Disorders to include Mental Health.

I was involved in a special program with CU Senior Nursing students whereby I spoke on SUD and MH concerns with nurses in practice. We offered Simulations and a didactic portion. The first of its kind in the United States.

I have been a "Manager" and "Director" of many programs involving direct supervision of staff.

Have worked in many roles that required diplomacy and finesse

1) Please describe what members should know about why you seek being elected to this office or position?:

As an active member in Sig 31, I am interested in being a Sig representative for the Sig's. I am excited to be involved more deeply with the Sig's; as a liaison from the Board to these Sig's, to build a bridge between the Sig's and the Board of CNA.

I would like to be involved in the GAPP committee to further understand issues that are affecting Nurses and our profession

2) What priorities do you see for CNA at this time?:

  • Reaching out to all nurses in the state with messaging from the Board.
  • Inclusivity with nurses all over the state
  • Fiscal stability
  • Messaging-what that looks like, how to actually get that messaging out to members.
  • GAPP relationship with Board
  • Board's relationship to GAAP
  • Staying on top of issues that effect our profession related to the Legislature.
  • Staying on top of issues/problems/connections with ANA and therefore CNA
