Colorado Nurse Practice Act Passes House Committee
February 11, 2020
HB20-1216 Unanimously passed the House Health & Insurance Committee Hearing today.
Thank you to all CNA and Colorado Professional Nursing Association Coalition members for reaching out to Committee members requesting their support.
Representative Mullica has worked diligently to reach a position of support for amendments.
HB20-1216 will now go to Finance Committee for review and complete the path through the Colorado House of Representatives for a full vote, prior to advancing to the Colorado Senate.

Beginning with the May 2020 issue, the publication will be available as an e-newsletter to any nurse licensed in Colorado who would like to receive it. It will also be distributed in electronic form and printed as a member benefit for members of the Colorado Nurses Association. If you are not a member of the Colorado Nurses Association, then this current issue will be your LAST printed copy of the Colorado Nurse!

2020 Nurses Day at the Capitol - Feb. 18, 2020

Colorado Nurses Day at the Capitol will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020. The day will begin at the Scottish Rite Temple with breakfast and a welcome. The remaining part of the day will be at the Capitol. Here is the tentative schedule:
7:30 am: Breakfast at Scottish Rite Masonic Center 8 am - 9 am: Welcome 9am - 11 am: House and Senate Floor Visits Lunch on Own 1:30 pm - 5 pm: Committee Meetings 5 pm: Legislative Dinner/Reception at the Scottish Rite Center (separate registration required)
Cost: Members and pre-licensure students are FREE Non-members pay $10
Registration is required.
Information Regarding Parking:
First Baptist Church will let us use their parking lot (entrance on Grant) starting around 5:30 pm. PERA confirmed we can use their lot (entrance on Logan) starting after 4pm. The parking garage (entrance on Grant, due south of the Scottish Rite) will let us use the lot after 5pm.
