It's Not Too Late: CNA Call for Volunteers 100 Nurses for 100 LegislatorsDecember 3, 2019 The 2020 Legislative Session is framing up to be incredibly busy with continued focus on the Governor's agenda of increasing access to care and reducing the cost of care. Both well meaning goals, and in need of the important "Voice of Nursing". The Colorado Nurses Association (CNA) Board of Directors, in partnership with the CNA Government Affairs & Public Policy Committee want you to become a Nurse Legislator Liaison by joining up with the initiative "100 Nurses for 100 Legislators". We have completed the first webinar with an overview of legislative basics and establishing relationships with your elected Senator and Representative. These individuals serve at the pleasure of the voters and your voice as a constituent makes a difference. We are also refining toolkits for each Legislative Liaison's reference and through out the 2020 Legislative Session we will be hosing town halls and distributing talking points for each RN to be able to share with their respective Legislators. Our intention with this work is to match 100 CNA members with Colorado's 35 Senators and 65 Representatives (100) by connecting you personally with Senators and Representatives from your home Districts. We want to build a strong, consistent voice of nursing in Colorado, somewhat akin to "When Nurses Speak, Legislators Listen".
